The Avon Track and Field League was set up in 1984 to provide locally-based Track and Field competition for clubs in or around the Bristol / Gloucester area. The number of participating clubs has varied over the years. The organisation is not connected with the Avon Athletic Association (there's no rivalry: we just carry out different functions in the sport).

There are four fixtures each season, scheduled if possible to avoid the other League fixtures to which member clubs are commited. There are events for all age groups including Under-11's and Masters: as we can't include all events for all age groups and both sexes in a single afternoon, the League operates to two programmes: Rounds One and Three operate to Programme A, and Rounds Two and Four to (after a flash of blinding inspiration) Programme B.

Thanks to all who helped to put on the first fixture of 2008, and in particular to the Stroud AC members who turned out so early and in such good numbers to set up the equipment. The provisional results of the fixture are now up on the site.
